Brusilovsky Recognized with Amazon Research Award

DINS Professor Peter Brusilovsky has received an Amazon Research Award for his project "Investigating and Evaluating Exploratory Recommender Systems." The Award includes both financial support and AWS credits to be used as part of the proposed research plan.

Dr. Brusilovsky's project focuses on investigating a new type of interactive recommender system that combines the ideas of exploratory search and personalized recommendation. Motivated by the results of his recent work on recommending research advisors and courses, Dr. Brusilovsky plans to expand his study of exploratory recommendation approaches in three directions - switching to a richer and larger domain of food recipes, expanding the scope of user exploration to all three steps of the recommendation process, and developing better recommendation algorithms to support user exploration needs.

Congratulations to Dr. Brusilovsky!
