Join the Department of Informatics and Networked Systems in congratulating Dr. Peter Brusilovsky on being selected for a 2023 Chancellor's Distinguished Research Award!
This annual award from the University of Pittsburgh's Chancellor recognizes faculty members for their significant record of outstanding scholarly accomplishments; Dr. Brusilovsky was recognized in the Senior Scholar Award category, in which nominees must have achieved national and international preeminence in their field. The selection committee for the Award noted that they were "impressed by the reputation" that Brusilovsky had earned in the fields of adaptive hypermedia and web, user modeling technologies, and intelligent education systems. In particular, Dr. Brusilovsky was recognized as a leader in his field who produces research at the "cutting edge of information science" and as one who continues to "push the field forward by identifying important future directions."
Peter Brusilovsky is a Full professor in DINS and the Director of the Intelligent Systems Program in the School of Computing and Information. His ground-breaking research has been recognized with funding from the National Institutes of Health, the National Library of Medicine, the National Science Foundation, Google, and DARPA. He has been awarded the Fulbright-Nokia Distinguished Chair in Finland by the US Institute of International Education and the Dr. Honoris Causa by Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. In addition, he has been elevated to Senior Member of EEE and ACM.
