Peter Brusilovsky to be Featured Speaker at International Workshop on Impact of AI for Africa

Dr. Peter Brusilovsky, DINS faculty and director of the Intelligent Systems Program at SCI, has been invited as a Featured Speaker for the Internnational Workshop on Social Impact of AI for Africa (SIAIA-23). This workshop is part of the AAAI-23 Diversity and Inclusion Activities at the 37th AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence. Slated for February 10, 2023, the workshop aims to provide a venue for discussions regarding the social impact of AI in Africa, particularly efforts in AI to empower communities and create awareness of the role of Africa in the AI revolution. 

Dr. Brusilovsky will discuss "Personalized Learning: Expanding the Social Impact of AI," reviewing his work on personalized learning and tools. He will explore how AI can enhance personalized learning processes, systems, and tools. 

He has been working in the field of personalized learning, student and user modeling, recommender systems, and intelligent user interfaces for over 30 years. He published numerous  papers and edited books on adaptive hypermedia, and the adaptive Web, and social information access.  He is a recipient of Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship, NSF CAREER Award, and Fulbright-Nokia Distinguished Chair.
