Join the 2022 Game Jam, Games4SocialImpact, 9/30-10/2

  • Do you like to develop games?
  • Do you like to play games?
  • Are you feeling creative?

If any of these apply to you, you can join the 2022 Game Jam, Games4SocialImpact!  Worried that you do not have the right technical skills?  Don’t worry – this fun 3-day event brings together writers, artists, programmers, storytellers, political science students, and psychology students to work together to design games to address social issues.

What do we mean by social issues? It can be anything from dealing with anxiety, the practice of prescribed burns to prevent the spread of wildfires, to providing support to young children living in poverty.

Register and join us on Friday, September 30th, where you will meet up with Games organizers and potential teammates! That’s right, you don’t need to have a team pulled together – part of the fun is that you can meet new people and work together toward a fantastic game. You and your new teammates can design any style of game: card, tabletop, live role-playing (LARP), alternate reality (ARG), mobile, desktop, AR, VR, XR and more.

So, mark your calendars for September 30-October 2, and come to the School of Computing and Information for 3 days of learning, laughing, and contributing to the common good! Check out the Games4SocialImpact Website for registration details, rules, and information about the PRIZES! (Yes, there are prizes!)
